Mission & Goals

EPTO is the association of European Passenger Transport Operators and represents the leading transport services organisations in Europe, whose members are presently the sixth largest public transport companies in Europe: Arriva, First Group, Go-Ahead, Grupo Barraqueiro, Keolis and Comfort Delgro. Members cover 28 countries (of which 18 EU) and carry 10 Billion Passengers p.a.

EU Legislative Interests

Liberalisation - the introduction of fair and transparent tendering in public transport; Fair market conditions - consistent application of the EU policies by countries; State aid - transparent and fair use of funds to develop transport; Road Transport Package - practical and fair application of the legislation to cover all aspects of road passenger transport; EU 1370/2007 - fair and proper application of the legislation in all countries; EU 1073/2009 - practical and fair application of the legislation in all countries; Passenger rights - practical and fair legislation; Ticketing, pricing and technology - practical and fair application 4th railway package implementation MDMS & MPMF workstreams TEN-T regulations Urban Mobility Package Alternative Fuel infrastructure regulation Urban Mobility access regulation TAP/TSI (Retail Support Group) implementation

Communication Activities

We have regular engagement with the EU commission on Transport policy and also engage with members of the European parliament as well as the Council. We work closely with other trade bodies and consumer associations. Our policy statements are featured on our website. epto.net
