Mission & Goals
a) to promote the fundamental rights and fundamental freedoms in the armed forces of the countries of Europe; b) to promote European social policy so as to include military personnel; c) to promote the general, non-material, social and professional interests of active and former military personnel, their families and surviving dependents; d) to represent the interests of the member associations vis-à-vis supranational institutions and authorities, and to support them in matters of their concern within their national sphere; e) to cooperate with other international organisations and trade unions provided that this is in the interest of EUROMIL; f) to foster the regular exchange of experience between the member associations; g) to promote understanding and friendship between the member associations

Communication Activities
EU-Related Communication Activities (Past Year) Participation in ETUC–EPSU–EuroCOP discussions on social dialogue and workers’ rights in the defence sector. EndStress.EU campaign – coordinated EUROMIL’s input on the proposal for a European Directive on Psychosocial Risks. Regular weekly news updates on EU defence, social, and labour policy developments. Articles and statements on EU defence initiatives, Strategic Compass implementation, and European Defence Industrial Strategy. Advocacy on mental health and well-being of armed forces personnel within the EU’s occupational health framework. Communication and cooperation with European Parliament members and European Commission officials on military personnel’s social rights. Contributions to European Committee of Social Rights (ECSR) reporting, including submissions on Spain and Italy. Promotion of gender equality, inclusion, and diversity aligned with EU equality strategies. Regular updates and visibility on EUROMIL’s social media channels regarding EU institutions’ initiatives (EPSCO, SEDE, AFET, etc.). Participation in Friends of Europe events and EU-level think-tank debates on defence, resilience, and veterans’ policies. Dissemination of policy papers and statements related to EU defence policy and the rights of soldiers and veterans. Ongoing cooperation and information exchange with European civil society platforms and trade union networks.

EUROMIL is participating in the Fundamental Rights Platform (FRP) of the EU Agency for Fundamental Rights (FRA). The organisation has participatory status with the Council of Europe (CoE) and consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). EUROMIL also maintains contacts with DCAF Geneva and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE). Additionally, EUROMIL is a member of the European Movement International (EMI), Friends of Europe, CEPS and the Kangaroo Group.
