Mission & Goals
ENGSO is the European Grassroots Sport Organisation and the leading voice for voluntary-based grassroots sport in Europe. Together with our 40 members – National Sports Confederations, National Olympic and Paralympic Committees and other sports organisations from 33 European countries – we form a network that brings together people of different ages and backgrounds who share a passion for sport. We aspire to grassroots sport that promotes stronger communities, with the mission to represent, develop and advocate for voluntary-based sport in Europe – guided by our values: democracy, equality, inclusion, sustainability, integrity and education.

Communication Activities
Currently, ENGSO is coordinating four EU-funded projects, financed from the sport chapter of the Erasmus+ Programme. CHANGE - Cooperation for Change Management and Innovation in Sports, the CHANGE project has contributed to the promotion of integrity and values in sport by focusing on promoting and improving good governance. SURE – Sport for Unity, Resilience and Empowerment, work to improve equality in sport in Europe through implementation of existing good practices and policies. HOORAY - Cooperation for Health, the Hooray project invites to recognise the importance of Mental Health in sports and take action to ensure the well-being of adolescents. EUYOUSPORT - Striving for Good governance, while promoting effective and meaningful youth participation in decision making bodies in European sports. Additionally, ENGSO is a partner in 4 other Erasmus+ Sport projects or not-for-profit sport events. ENGSO contributes to the implementation of EU policy in the field of sport and other relevant areas through its communications, including the newsletter, website and social media, and through its events, including the European Sport Platform, member seminars, EU seminars and other meetings. ENGSO is publishing 4 different newsletter: an internal one only for members, two public newsletters one targeting general public within the sport movement and one targeting youth between 18-35 years old. The fourth newsletter is addressed to stakeholder in Europe working for equality in sport. ENGSO is a partner of the European Week of Sport, an initiative by the European Commission, since its first edition.
