Mission & Goals

The European Network of Maritime Clusters (ENMC) is a non-profit organization based in Luxembourg. Since its foundation, the ENMC’s main principle has been establishing an efficient framework for maritime sectorial cooperation, focused on vocalizing the unambiguous maritime interest to European policymakers towards a European maritime level playing field: a single European Maritime Cluster.

EU Legislative Interests

ENMC and its members follow and contribute to debates on several EU initiatives, including but not limited to: - The European Ocean Pact - The EU Blue Economy Strategy - The EU Green Deal and its maritime-related components (decarbonisation of shipping, renewable offshore energy, clean ports) - The Sustainable and Smart Mobility Strategy (covering maritime transport and logistics) - The European Skills Agenda and initiatives for blue skills and training

Communication Activities

ENMC ensures visibility of maritime clusters and contributes to EU policymaking through: - Participation in EU-level conferences and events (e.g. European Maritime Day, BlueInvest events, EU Ocean Week, WestMED stakeholder conferences, European Cluster Conference) - Organisation of thematic workshops and roundtables on maritime transport, ports, aquaculture, blue skills, and sustainability - Publication of position papers and reports, accessible to both policymakers and stakeholders - Direct engagement with EU institutions (meetings, consultations, written contributions) on blue economy priorities - Joint initiatives with member clusters to channel expertise and best practices from the national to the EU level Through these activities, ENMC contributes to the representation of the industry at the European level, and ensures that the perspectives of national clusters and their stakeholders are reflected in the development of a sustainable and competitive European blue economy.
