Mission & Goals

The main task of the network is the international exchange of experience and knowledge between its participants and the promotion of a higher level of cooperation with European institutions. The members of Open ENLoCC work together on common projects with the aim of developing the regional economy by solving infrastructural, organisational and technological problems of logistics and transport. The dissemination of the results of the network activities and the best practices take place on a wide scale, involving all the key bodies at EU level. Open ENLoCC aims at fostering the adoption of Regional Collaborative Logistics by contributing to dialogue and synergic interaction between its network and other organization, stimulating public support to it and engaging in networking activities with public and private bodies.

EU Legislative Interests

Open ENLoCC is interested in addressing current EU legislation proposals which aims at bolster innovation in the Regional Collaborative Logistics, particularly those supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to improve their competitiveness in the logistics sector in line with European policies. Some of the key EU laws of utmost importance for Open ENLoCC are: eFTI Regulations, eCMR, Automation in Logistics, Digitalization, Dataspace, Data exchange, Rail shift, Decarbonization, Cybersecurity, City logistics.

Communication Activities

The main European transport corridors are an important issue in European as well as in regional politics. For several such corridors, Open ENLoCC members cooperate on exchanging regional knowledge regarding these corridors, with an emphasis on freight transport. This has not only increased their knowledge but also helped to establish formalized support projects for the improvement of these axes. For this purpose, Open ENLoCC launched its own network journal, the European Review of Regional Logistics, to present the latest developments in the logistics sector of members' regions. Open ENLoCC engages in an active dialogue with regional authorities and European institutions, to ensure that the regional strategies are consistent with broader EU objectives. At the EU level, Open ENLoCC is meant to develop its dialogue with EU Commission Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE). The communication and dissemination activity implemented through EU funded projects, is also relevant to fostering dialogue with EU Representations of the European Commission in the EU Member States.
