Mission & Goals
The European Medical Students´ Association – Association Européenne des Étudiants en Médecine (EMSA) is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation representing medical students from all across Europe. Founded 1990 in Brussels, it is the only voice of students within the European Medical Organisations. EMSA is recognised by the European Parliament, the European Commission, and the United Nations. The association provides a platform for high-level advocacy, projects, trainings, workshops... Our Vision EMSA envisions a united and solidary Europe in which medical students actively promote health. Our Mission EMSA empowers medical students to advocate health in all policies, excellence in medical research, interprofessional healthcare education, and the protection of human rights across Europe. We are committed to ensuring the highest standards of healthcare and medical education in a united Europe where medicine is practiced in accordance with the highest ethical principles.

Additional Information
All executive board members (CPME Intern is not on the executive board) as well as other European board members of EMSA work for the organisation on a voluntary basis. The CPME intern is a paid position whose salary is paid for by CPME however works for EMSA 1 out of 5 working days and is also selected by the EMSA Executive board. Our budget expenses our mainly spent on administration (accounting, legal fees, etc), reimbursements for the board for participation in external events related to EMSA's work, as well as for social media. This is the reasoning for the low budget.
