Mission & Goals

The EMN is a non-profit network composed of the most important European slaughtering companies involved in the slaughtering and processing of beef, pork, lamb and poultry meat. The purpose of EMN is to strengthen the long-term position of the European meat sector, to create a forum for discussions on developments in relation to the regulatory status of meat and meat products within the European Union and in relation to third countries; to create a forum for discussions on technical and other similar developments within the meat industry and in relation to other relevant economic sectors.

EU Legislative Interests

The group intends to influence the debate and policymaking on different fields that have an impact on the meat sector, including animal welfare, health, sustainability and trade.

Communication Activities

The EMN organises two general meetings a year when different authorities engaging in policymaking coming from the European Commission, Council, and EU Parliament, as well as from the private sector, are invited to attend.
