Mission & Goals
The European Indo-Pacific Business Council (EIPBC) promotes trade, investment, and institutional cooperation between Europe and the countries in the Indo-Pacific region by collaborating with governments, public institutions, embassies, consulates, chambers of commerce, trade and investment agencies, business groups and any other relevant stakeholder. The mission of the EIPBC is to foster stronger diplomatic and economic relations between Europe and the countries of the Indo-Pacific region promoting closer institutional, business and organisational cooperation to solve common challenges while advancing complementary strategic interests, needs and capabilities.
EU Legislative Interests
An EU initiative to grant support to the Indo-Pacific and its population in the areas of innovation, research, structural funds, competition policy, trade negotiations, energy union, economic governance, internal market, defence, external action; Influencing the full and correct implementation of the Global Gateway Initiative, the EU-Indo Pacific Strategy and the Pacific-EU Parliamentary Assembly decisions; Influencing the policymakers to make sure the EU Strategy for Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific adheres to a principled approach, ensuring the strategy effectiveness and delivery process; Legislation deriving from the EU-Organisation of the African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS) Partnership Agreement and the application of its Regional Protocols; The implementation of the EU support to the 2050 Strategy for the Blue Pacific Continent; Influencing the EU-Pacific Islands Forum (PIF) Partnership in the areas of security, defence, economic cooperation and international cooperation; The EU Development Assistance actions and legislation for the Indo-Pacific region and individual countries.
Communication Activities
Regulatory explainers: EIPBC will track and post explainers of EU policies regarding individual Indo-Pacific countries and, more widely, the Indo-Pacific region. Conceptual analysis: EIPBC will post explainers of policy concepts, including advocating for policymakers to consider emerging issues. Events: EIPBC plans to attend and track panels and conferences taking place across the EU, concerning the Pacific region and related EU foreign policy topics, also partnering with local organisers. Lobbying: EIPBC will advise policymakers from the European Commission, European Parliament, and EU Council on Indo-Pacific related policies, including for the EU Council decisions, the EU-Indo Pacific Strategy, the EU-Pacific Economic Partnership Agreement and Parliament's own-initiative reports on the Pacific through the Delegation to the Pacific-EU Parliamentary Assembly (DPAC), the Delegation for relations with Australia and New Zealand (DANZ) and the Delegation to the OACPS-EU Joint Parliamentary Assembly (DACP) urging the EU to recognise the growing importance and risks in the Indo-Pacific region.

Organisation Members
The membership of the organisation is of a mixed public-private nature. We act on behalf of public authorities as well as private organisations. The public members are countries of the Indo-Pacific regional organisations: Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (OACPS); Pacific Islands Forum (PIF); Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN); Pacific Community (PC); Secretariat for the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP); Council of Regional Organizations in the Pacific (CROP); Indo-Pacific Economic Framework (IPEF); Indo-Pacific Four (IP4). The private members are companies that are part of a national or regional Chamber of Commerce based in each of the countries of the Indo-Pacific region: Servcorp; Fiji Airways; Reddy Group; Speyside: Asia Pacific International Wines and Spirit Alliance; Vriens & Partners; Frequentis; Paradise Beverages.
