Mission & Goals
The European Group on Tort Law aims to contribute to the enhancement and harmonization of tort law in Europe through the framework provided by its Principles of European Tort Law (PETL) and its related and ongoing research, and in particular to provide a principled basis for rationalisation and innovation at national and EU level. The European Group on Tort Law is a group of scholars who share a common research interest. The Group's activities are not profit-oriented, and neither do they serve in any trade, business or professional purpose. The Group's common goal is purely academic

Harmonisation in European private law, particularly in the field of tort law (Product Liability Directive, Draft AI Liability Directive, possible follow-up legislation after the latter's withdrawal)
Communication Activities
Publications and conferences on comparative tort law, participation in Expert Group on Liability for New Technologies (Product Liability Formation)
