Mission & Goals
EGInA – European Grants International Academy – has been founded in 2012 in Foligno, in the green heart of Italy, as a training agency, accredited by the Umbria Region for vocational training and certification of competences, and it represents today one of the main stakeholders in the field of local, national, and European initiatives design and implementation, relying on the cooperation of numerous experts in the fields of education, social innovation, cultural heritage and digital transformation.
EU Legislative Interests
European Education Area (EEA): Central because EGInA works across school education, adult learning, VET, mobility and lifelong learning. The EEA is the umbrella for quality, inclusive education and training in Europe. Union of Skills: Very relevant for EGInA’s work on skills development, employability, upskilling/reskilling, digital and basic skills, and training innovation. It is now a key EU strategy linking education, labour market needs and competitiveness. Digital Education Action Plan 2021–2027: Probably the most directly relevant policy, given EGInA’s strong work on DigComp, digital literacy, AI in adult learning, digital credentials, media literacy and digital transformation of education providers. EU policies on Vocational Education and Training (VET): Core for EGInA as an accredited VET centre and mobility actor, especially on employability, quality assurance, microcredentials, validation and work-based learning. EU Youth Strategy 2019–2027: Highly relevant for EGInA’s youth participation, active citizenship, hackathons, entrepreneurship and youth empowerment work. European Pillar of Social Rights / Social Inclusion policies: Relevant for EGInA’s activities on migrants, refugees, women, disadvantaged groups, adult learning, employability and equal access to opportunities. European Green Deal: Strongly aligned with EGInA’s green skills, climate awareness, circular economy, eco-innovation and sustainable local development projects. New European Bauhaus (NEB): Especially relevant where EGInA connects sustainability, inclusion, creativity, culture, territorial regeneration and innovation; this is also explicit in NEB-related projects already in EGInA’s portfolio. EU cultural heritage and media literacy policies: Relevant because EGInA works on digital cultural heritage, arts accessibility, media literacy and citizenship-oriented educational innovation. Erasmus+ and Horizon Europe policy priorities: Practically essential for EGInA, since its activity portfolio is already strongly built around Erasmus+, Forward Looking Projects and Horizon themes such as inclusion, digital transition, green transition, VET, youth and innovation.
Communication Activities
EGInA can facilitate dialogue between stakeholders and representatives of the Union through a multi-level communication and engagement strategy already embedded in its organisational practice. EGInA combines large-scale dissemination channels with participatory formats: a targeted newsletter reaching around 45,000 stakeholders, a national network of more than 40 schools, project websites, MOOCs, social media campaigns, workshops, info sessions, multiplier events and international hackathon-based initiatives. This allows EGInA to both widen outreach and create structured opportunities for exchange between local actors, educators, civil society, young people and EU-level representatives. More specifically, EGInA can support dialogue with Union representatives through: (1) public communication and awareness-raising, by disseminating key EU priorities, calls for participation, project results and policy messages through its website, newsletters and social media; (2) stakeholder consultations and info sessions, which EGInA already uses to gather feedback from companies, training centres, associations, teachers and vulnerable groups; (3) workshops, communities of practice and co-creation formats, where stakeholders can discuss needs and proposals directly connected to European priorities; and (4) challenge-based events such as Social Hackathon Umbria and educational hacking initiatives, which create concrete spaces where institutions, practitioners and communities can interact around shared social, digital and civic challenges.
