Mission & Goals
The EFF is a not-for-profit association (established in Belgium under Belgian law, French linguistic role) which speaks for and represents the interests (legal and commercial) of the commercial franchising industry in Europe, and in particular in the EU. Franchise contracts are commercial contracts between 2 independent entrepreneurs, the seller of a franchise (franchisor) and the buyer of a franchise (the franchisee). Franchised businesses are designed to develop as networks which, for the great majority, quickly grow internationally. Franchise contracts are governed, in the EU as in other countries, by the laws of the country of jurisdiction which include laws and regulations relating to aspects of civil, commercial, fiscal, social, IPR, as well as COMPETITION law.
