Mission & Goals
EUFORES is a European cross-party network of Members of Parliaments from the European Parliament as well as from the EU27 national and regional Parliaments. EUFORES core objective is the promotion of renewable energy and energy efficiency. EUFORES is supported by a variety of non-parliamentary members from the renewable energy and energy efficiency industry, scientific institutes, energy agencies and NGOs - all strongly committed to renewable energy and energy efficiency. EUFORES has developed a broad spectrum of activities in order to coordinate the exchange between its members. EUFORES is governed by three to five Presidents, all prominent Members of the European Parliament. The daily operations and management of EUFORES are carried out by the Secretary-General and the Secretariat in Brussels.
EU Legislative Interests
Directives and other legislation on renewable energy, energy efficiency, energy union, climate change, clean energy package, European Green Deal, RePowerEU, Clean Industrial Deal etc.
Communication Activities
Main EUFORES EU projects are: - Keep on track (terminated in 2015) - Energy Efficiency Watch 3 (terminated in 2017) - Renewables Networking Platform (contract with DG ENER, terminated in 2021) - Energy Efficiency Watch 4 (project under HorzonEurope, terminated November 2022) - Energy Efficiency Watch 5 (project under EU Life programme, started November 2022) EUFORES organises several kinds of events: - Big European Inter-Parliamentary Meetings in national parliaments - EU Parliament events - national parliamentary events
