Mission & Goals

The European Fishing Tackle & Trade Association (EFTTA) was established in London in 1981 with the aim of representing the interests of the European tackle trade and recreational angling industry. To this end, the association lobbies and raises awareness in the political field and public relations. In 2021, EFTTA moved its headquarters to Brussels and is now registered as a non-profit lobbying association. EFTTA's mission is to promote and protect the recreational angling industry, foster its growth, and influence policy and legislation that affect the tackle trade and recreational anglers. EFTTA encourages nature conservation and promotes the restoration and protection activities by anglers and industry players around recreational angling for a sustainable environment. Membership is open to manufacturers, in/exporters, wholesalers, agents, press, related businesses and fishing and tackle trade associations.
