Mission & Goals
The EEA, originally created in 1846, is a pan-European movement representing more than 50 national and international evangelical Protestant organisations in 36 nations, and 23 million citizens in the EU. The Brussels office of the EEA, opened in 1994, promotes active citizenship of its constituency and represents it to the European Institutions.
EU Legislative Interests
The European Evangelical Alliance follows closely EU initiatives on Human Dignity, Human Rights, and Fundamental Freedoms such as Freedom of Expression and Freedom of Religion or Belief in Europe and around the world. The development of Artificial Intelligence is closely linked to human rights and the future of our societies. Other areas of interest include EU initiatives to deal with migrants and refugees as well as its efforts to fight poverty and social exclusion.
Communication Activities
The European Evangelical Alliance organises Europe wide campaigns and communication initiatives. We also encourage our members to develop a mentality of active and participatory citizenship by organising their own projects and initiatives. We conduct our communication activities mainly through our website and media organisations affiliated with local partners. We also publish a bimonthly newsletter that is sent to about 1000 participants.
