Mission & Goals

The mission of the EEF is to maximize the potential and development of equestrianism throughout the European continent by working together with the FEI (Fédération Equestre Internationale) and all member bodies as a modern and progressive organization. The EEF’s responsibility does not end by LEADING, regulating traditional equestrian disciplines; our vision extends to PROMOTING the values and contribution of equestrianism, encouraging and PROVIDING EDUCATION based on a foundation of fair, safe competition and the welfare of its human and equine athletes by working together with all independent member bodies for the DEVELOPMENT of the sport, throughout Europe.

EU Legislative Interests

EU animal health law; Equine Health and Welfare; Animal transport; Animal identification and traceability; Animal welfare legislation; EU Vat reform; Impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the European equestrian sector; EU Sport policy, Gender balance and equality in sport; EU Employment legislation; EU Veterinary and sanitary policies; EU Competition legislation; EU sustainability and green agenda; EU CAP policy.

Communication Activities

Contributed to a number of consultation processes impacting the European horse industry including the implementing acts for equine identification and welfare; EU Animal health law; EU Vat reform (as applicable to the European horse industry); member of the IHSC (International Horse Sport Confederation) Taskforce for EU Animal Health Law and Brexit.
