Mission & Goals

The European Semiconductor Industry Association (ESIA) is an industry association working under the umbrella and legal entity of the European Electronic Component Manufacturers Association (EECA). ESIA advocates for and represents the collective interests of Europe’s semiconductor industry. We serve as the key interlocutor for EU institutions, governments and societal stakeholders on semiconductor-related matters, fostering dialogue and collaboration. ESIA champions a business-friendly policy framework that drives semiconductor innovation and manufacturing leadership, strengthens our industry’s competitiveness, and supports sustainable growth. Since 1997, ESIA represents the European Semiconductor Industry in the World Semiconductor Council (WSC). Together with the semiconductor industry associations of China, Chinese Taipei, Japan, Korea and the United States, ESIA shapes the agenda of the WSC. The Joint Steering Committee (JSTC) of the WSC meets three times a year.
