Mission & Goals
The European Council of Civil Engineers is constituted to implement the following objectives in relation to the following bodies. - European Community: (a) to implement the general policies and objectives of the Treaty of Rome insofar as they affect the profession of civil engineering; (b) to promote higher standards of civil engineering in the European Community and Europe in general; - European Commission: (a) to inform and to advise the European Commission of matters relevant to the civil engineering profession and in particular, to ensure that the text of its Directives is in keeping with the foregoing objectives; (b) to advise the European Commission on the organisation and methods of the construction industry and the framework within which civil engineering works; - EC National Governments and Institutions: (a) to advise and influence individual Governments and professional Institutions in the light of the Council’s corporate policies; (b) to formulate standards t (...)
