Mission & Goals
The task of ECC Austria is to inform and support consumers free of charge in the out-of-court enforcement of their rights in other European countries, including the UK, Iceland, and Norway. ECC Austria’s mandate regards consumer transactions—specifically, transactions between consumers and businesses—in line with its statutory guidelines. Hosted by the Austrian Consumer Protection Association (VKI), Austria’s foremost consumer protection body, ECC Austria holds a trusted position among its population. ECC Austria's activity is based on the 6 objectives defined in the ECC-Net Vademecum: 1. Case-handling 2. Supporting Redress and enforcement 3. Communication, information and promotion 4. Active participation in Network activities 5. Cooperation with stakeholders 6. Ensuring a uniformly high quality standardised service
