Mission & Goals
ECIS is an international non-profit association founded in 1989 that endeavours to promote a favourable environment for interoperable ICT solutions. It has actively represented its members regarding issues related to interoperability and competition before European, international and national fora, including the EU institutions and WIPO.
EU Legislative Interests
ECIS is involved in the following activities: engaging in activities related to the EU Data Act negotiations and its subsequent implementation; monitoring and responding to developments on the drafting of the Digital Markets Act and related areas in the Digital Services Act; monitoring competition issues in relation to interoperability; engaging in legislative developments regarding the European Data Strategy; engaging in activities to promote interoperability in cybersecurity; participating in cyber security certification stakeholder groups and other relevant working groups.
Communication Activities
Every year ECIS organizes an annual event focused on fair competition and interoperability in digital market with a theme that is of relevance at that time.
