Mission & Goals

The European Carton Makers Association is the official organisation for Folding Carton Producing Companies, National Carton Associations and Suppliers for the folding carton industry throughout Europe. The association is constituted to serve the interest of the European cartonboard and folding carton industry in general and the international co-operation within the industry.

EU Legislative Interests

*Food Safety. ECMA has developed a Food Safety Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) in line with Article 3 of Regulation (EC) No 1935/2004. * Security features in the context of the evaluation of the Tobacco Products Directive and labelling/ consumer information in the General Pharmaceutical Legislation Revision. * Promote and defend paper information leaflets from the threat of electronic product information (ePI) via MLPS (Medical Leaflets = Patient Safety). * Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, Circular Economy Act, European Union Deforestation Regulation and Waste Framework Directive.

Communication Activities

Each year ECMA organises a congress in the month of September in a European city.
