Mission & Goals
ECPA is a non-profit Association representing Members in discussions on EU regulation impacting the use and / or users of payment cards or similar payment instruments, including measures intended to promote the creation of a single European market for card payments (SEPA for Cards). ECPA Membership includes card schemes whose brand is currently used only within the European Economic Area (EEA) such as : Bancontact Company (BE), Borica(BG), Groupement des Cartes Bancaires "CB" (FR), Nets - Dankort (DK), SIBS MB (PT), Sistema de Tarjetas y Medios de Pago (STMP) (ES), PostFinance Card (CH) and BankAxept (NO). Other members are organisations which play key roles only within the European Economic Area (EEA) Betaalvereniging Nederland (Dutch Payments Association) and the Pan-Nordic Card Association. ECPA Business Associates include UK Finance, BKM/TROY (TU) and (currently suspended) NSPK/MIR (RU)
EU Legislative Interests
EU-EEA legislation concerning payments and the payment eco-systems EU-EEA legislation concerning security, standardisation and the fight against fraud related to cards, card transactions and similar payment instruments and the corresponding eco-systems.
