Mission & Goals
EBIT is a cross-industry, pan-European business working group of Senior Tax Executives from European-based companies whose aim is to help streamline and modernize Europe’s direct tax policy. Additionally, EBIT aims to help MNEs and investors to navigate the modern Tax space (tax & trade, competitiveness, ESG and geopolitics), build trust in the tax system, and contribute to a sustainable economy. EBIT delivers business messages based on real-life experiences and examples to achieve practical progress. It does so through ongoing technical dialogue and cooperation with the EU Institutions (Commission, Parliament, Council, EESC), the OECD and the UN, and any other relevant stakeholders. EBIT’s technical input to the EU and the OECD is always rooted in EBIT's corporate members’ day-to-day business practice and experience.
EU Legislative Interests
The EU’s, OECD’s and UN’s strategic international tax policy and reform agendas that are affecting large MNEs and investors in the EU: policy, political, regulatory and legislative initiatives, trends, developments. Implementation and compliance issues in connection with EU Tax policy, Tax and Tax-related proposals and directives Work of the EU Platform for Tax Good Governance. Work of the EU Code of Conduct Group (Business Taxation) Work of the European Parliament's FISC and ECON Committees. Tax aspects of the EU FSR. EU direct tax Case Law and doctrine. Tax transparency and sustainability. Digital transformation. Cooperative compliance. Tax & Trade, Transatlantic relations EU Tax decision-making process. Tax controversy and dispute resolution. Optional: VAT/Indirect Tax and ‘Green’ Taxes and incentives.
Communication Activities
see : www.ebit-businesstax.com Two EBIT roundtable meetings /y + informal working dinner on the evening before -- for EBIT's Members meeting with external guests from the European Commission, European Parliament, Council, OECD, EBIT Knowledge Partner, PwC, academic institutions, World Bank Group, NGOs, non-profits like GRI, VBDO, etc. Participation in EU Platform for Tax Good Governance meetings as a member (2024-2029). Participation in formal and informal EU and OECD public consultation meetings, EU workshops, seminars and events, international tax conferences.
