Mission & Goals
The European Business Group Tanzania (EUBG) is a non-profit association (est. 2015) that supports European companies in Tanzania through advocacy, market access support, and a neutral networking platform. We work closely with the EU Delegation in Dar es Salaam—holding regular meetings with Heads of Mission and the economic/trade lead—the national European embassies, and Tanzanian public authorities. Our activities include networking events and sector roundtables, business clinics and practical advisory sessions, leadership engagements (CEO breakfasts and executive dialogues), policy dialogue and advocacy follow-ups, market-access briefings and compliance updates, joint events with EU/embassies/partner chambers, regional outreach (Arusha, Zanzibar), and training workshops. EUBG is part of the EBO Worldwide Network; in 2025-2026 our Executive Director serves on its board as Working Group Lead for Communication and Visibility. We are funded by membership fees and sponsorships.
EU Legislative Interests
No specific EU legislative proposals were targeted in the reference year. EUBG’s interest representation focused on non-legislative policy matters related to EU–Tanzania economic cooperation, notably market access and trade facilitation (customs procedures and standards/SPS), the investment climate, and private-sector development within EU external action frameworks (including Global Gateway and the European Fund for Sustainable Development Plus, EFSD+). Engagement took place through working-level exchanges with the European Commission (DG GROW, DG TRADE and DG INTPA) via the EBO Worldwide Network and with the EU Delegation in Dar es Salaam. Our input is evidence-based, non-partisan, and reflects aggregated feedback from European companies operating in Tanzania.
