Mission & Goals
The EBA serves as a forum through which medical specialists, researchers, professions allied to medicine (PAM) and other workers come in contact to discuss aspects of burn treatment and research. In this way, expertise and knowledge are spread throughout the countries of Europe. - To disseminate knowledge of and to stimulate prevention in the field of burn injury - To encourage and coordinate research into scientific, clinical and social aspects of burn injury - To promote education in all aspects of burns, including first aid, nursing and rehabilitation - To co-operate in international disaster planning - To facilitate the exchange of personnel - To coordinate and to publicise congresses relating to burn care throughout Europe - To conduct verifications of burn centres across Europe to ensure quality standards of care, promote continous improvement, and foster echange of best practices in burn treatment and rehabilitation.

The European Burns Association (EBA) operates with limited financial resources and is largely dependent on membership fees and volunteer contributions. The organization has one part-time secretary whose position is funded by an external party; all other activities are carried out by professionals who offer their time and expertise on a voluntary basis, without compensation.
