1) EU preparedness union strategy https://commission.europa.eu/topics/preparedness_en 2) EU’s chemicals strategy for sustainability towards a toxic-free environment https://environment.ec.europa.eu/strategy/chemicals-strategy_en 3) Any issue of toxicological relevance with respect to medicines, chemicals, cosmetics, biocides, food, food for special medical purposes, medical devices and in-vitro medical devices as well as any other substance or material which may be licensed, authorised, or notified for use with the EU. Improvements and updates to: 4) EU’s Classification, Labelling and Packaging Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, which aligns the EU's rules for chemical substances and mixtures with the United Nations' Globally Harmonised System (GHS) 5) Regulations 2017/745 and 2017/746 on medical devices and in vitro diagnostics respectively which aim to ensure the availability of safe and effective devices with the aim of protecting patient safety and public health. 6) Council Decision (EU) 2017/939 of 11 May 2017 on the conclusion on behalf of the European Union of the Minamata Convention on Mercury 7) Commission Regulation (EU) 2023/915 of 25 April 2023 on maximum levels for certain contaminants in food and repealing Regulation (EC) No 1881/2006 8) Regulation (EU) 2022/2371 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 23 November 2022 on serious cross-border threats to health and repealing Decision No 1082/2013/EU 9) The European Medicines Agency (EMA)’s guidance on the use of medicines for treatment and prevention in case of exposure to biological or chemical agents used for terrorism, crime or warfare – meant to support the routine preparedness activities of public health authorities across the EU (see https://www.ema.europa.eu/en/human-regulatory-overview/public-health-threats/biological-chemical-threats).
