Mission & Goals

The EACR is a membership organisation for cancer researchers with more than 14,000 members around the world. Its aim is the advancement of cancer research for the public benefit, from basic research to prevention, treatment and care. It facilitates communication and collaboration within the cancer research community, provides a variety of services and funding opportunities to its community of members, and organises highly rated webinars, scientific conferences and an annual congress.

EU Legislative Interests

The EACR has an interest in EU policies and programmes relating to scientific research, particularly cancer research. More broadly, it is also interested in scientific education and training.

Communication Activities

The EACR disseminates information about EU consultations to its members and, where appropriate, will respond on behalf of its members. The EACR also distributes information about EU funding calls that might be of interest to its members. The EACR is a partner in World Cancer Research Day. The EACR aims to raise awareness of the importance of scientific research and the need for sustained funding to support its members' work.
