Mission & Goals

European Arenas Association Overview The European Arenas Association (EAA) recently re-named Arenas Europe as a brand name was founded in 1991 and incorporated on 23 November 2000. It is a non-profit organisation. The registered office of the Association is situated in Amsterdam and the business office resides in Rotterdam, currently at the Ahoy Arena. The Association represents 46 leading European arenas, across 20 different countries, dedicated to presenting and promoting the most innovative and popular entertainment in Europe. The European Arenas Association’s (EAA) vision is to be the leading authority on Arenas in Europe and to become the voice not only for its members but for the wider industry The EAA aims to become the reference for European best practice and knowledge sharing and education. Participation at Music Moves Europe - Structured Dialogue on Music at Music Week Poland, Warsaw on Thursday 26 June 2025, 13:15-16:30 For a Sustainable Music Ecosystem in Europe: Global Exchange & Export Opportunities and lasting partnerships across all Europe and beyond Participation at Music Moves Europe - Structured Dialogue on Music at WOMEX, Tampere Tampere Hall on Thursday 23 October 2025 Future-Proofing the Music Ecosystem: New Skills, Inclusive Education, and Lifelong Learning Participation at the Music Moves Europe policy dialogue at the Charlemagne building, European Commission, Brussels on 22 February 2024 Launch of self-funded online training programme for Arenas Management Launch of first arena management industry master’s degree Continued collaboration with the Live Content Coalition (https://livecontentcoalition.eu) - the EUIPO is compiling information from holders of rights pertaining to live content regarding their practices and experiences in fighting piracy. The EAA is providing input to the EUIPO. Invitation and Attendance at the annual EU Sports Forums and Key Players Seminars Participation in EWoS since 2018 EAA part of a joint action representing European Cultural Networks expressing concerns over proposed budget cuts to the Creative Europe work programme 2024. Presentation of an EAA Thought Paper on strategy for promoting sport and healthy lifestyles in the community Invitation and participation at a stakeholder meeting on an "EU framework for the social and professional situation of artists and workers in the cultural and creative sectors", at the European Parliament in Brussels on April 25. Anti-Piracy coalition: co-signatory on Call to Action sent to President von der Leyen, Vice President Schinas, Commissioner Breton, and Commissioner Gabriel (documents 1a & 1a.i) Anti-Piracy coalition: an event organized by the Association of Commercial Television and Video on Demand services in Europe ( ACT) and supported by EAA took place at the European Parliament on 07.09.22 (1b) EAA president was invited to speak at an Anti-piracy conference in Brussels endorsed by the French Presidency of the EU Council (1c) EAA signed an open letter in collaboration with Face-value European Alliance for Ticketing (FEAT) on the Digital Services Act aimed at protecting Europe’s live events sector from illegal ticket resale - an official response received on behalf of Commission Vice-President Margrethe Vestager and Commissioner Thierry Breton (1d) 2nd GESAC petition in support of EU Reopening Guidelines sent to Vice-President Margaritis Schinas and Commissioner Gabriel (1e) Anti-Piracy coalition: EAA is actively involved in a live content coalition in a joint effort to face the threat of piracy/co-signatory in a letter sent to Commissioner Breton calling for changes in the Digital Services Act (1f) In collaboration with GESAC, EAA was a co-signatory on a petition letter for a post-lockdown strategy for Europe’s cultural venues sent to Commissioner Thierry Breton (1g) EAA sent a follow-up letter sent to Ursula von der Leyen, Mariya Gabriel, and Stella Kyrikides requesting further conversations on issues of continued restrictions and the need for a sanitary framework for the safe operation of large-scale events. Petition Letter (1h) EAA sent a petition letter on threats from Covid-19 facing the live events industry - calling for targeted European action - sent to EU Commissioners Thierry Breton and Mariya Gabriel, MEPs Sabine Verheyen, Tomasz Frankowski, and Massimiliano Smeriglio and the German Presidency team in charge of culture and sport (1i) Commissioner Gabriel met with ARA c
