Communication Activities
EATiP priorities and recommendations are set out through the Strategic Research and Innvoation agenda (2012, revised 2017 & Recommendations, 2019 see - https://eatip.eu/sria/). These documents guide EATiP responses to and communication with the EC on policy issues. EATiP run two online communication activities – a Forum series, online workshops addressing thematic issues across the aquaculture value chain – in addition to an “On the Horizon” project dissemination service, promoting research and innovation outputs from EU funded research activities. Conclusions from such events and subsequent discussions also shape and guide EATiP responses and priorities. Through a number of projects and initiatives, EATiP is engaged in the promotion of sustainable aquaculture, including on an international (beyond EU)basis. EATiP has pledged to support the EU Mission Ocean Charter in three principal areas. EATiP is responsible for the leading the communication and dissemination of the Mission Lighthouse OLAMUR project, considering marine multi use and co-existence of wind turbines and low trophic aquaculture. EATiP participates in open consultations upon invitation by the European Commission and encourages its members to do so as well. All input documents are available at www.eatip.eu. The EATiP Annual General Meeting gathers leading players from the industry and research sectors (usually June each year) and includes invited participation from DGs MARE & RTD and if relevant, DGs ENVI, AGRI, SANTE, REGIO & GROW. EATiP participate in a number of aquaculture related organisations and groups including the SCAR-Fish Committee, Aquaculture Advisory Council, EFARO and as sector representative in bodies such as Copernicus Marine Systems.
