Mission & Goals
Europe India Centre for Business and Industry and its associate organisation has been playing a key role in promoting EU India/ UK India relations. Since 2011, EICBI Chairman Mr Sujit S Nair has organised 35 Major business summits in the Europe (29 summits at the British Parliament in London/ other locations in UK and 6 summits at the European Parliament in Brussels/ other locations in Belgium), whereby EICBI & its delivery partners have engaged delegates from close to 3000 companies. These summits have allowed British MPs, European Members of Parliament and Indian lawmakers to get to know each other and engage in discussions with companies planning to expand into these regions. EICBI MTU leverages network, resources and expertise developed by EICBI OU, SFDI ( Sivaleen Foundation for Developed India) & EICBI UK over the years to pursue activities in EU India corridor. The common directors in all 4 organisations is Mr Sujit S Nair and therefore helps in seamless integration
EU Legislative Interests
To achieve its statutory objectives , EICBI MTU mission is to develop a business friendly environment in the EU India corridor. Therefore, EICBI is interested in all legisation or programmes, which have an impact on the EU India corridor. In this regards, the main EU policies and initiatives are followed by our organization are as follows • 2020 EU-India Strategic Partnership: A Roadmap to 2025 • European Parliament Resolution A9-0124/2021 of April 2021 on EU-India relations • EU-India future trade and investment cooperation (2021/2177(INI)) • Common foreign and security policy • Digital Services Act, 2022 • Horizon 2020 • EU Youth Strategy 2019-2027: engaging, connecting and empowering young people • EU-India Strategic Partnership • EU-India Free Trade Agreement (FTA) policies and discussions • European Union-India Clean Energy and Climate Partnership • EU-India Digital Partnership • EU cooperation/ technical assistance programmes towards third countries • SME policy • Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM)- EU
Communication Activities
Organising Webinars and interactions as part of our EuropeIndia40 views campaigns which looks at connecting young leaders below 40 from EU with other young leaders from EU and India who are promoting EU India relations - https://www.eicbi.org/europe-india40-leaderslist EICBI organises webinars so as to encourage Members of European Parliament to closely engage in discussions with Members of India Parliament as part of the efforts to promoting discussion and interaction in relation to EU India trade and relations. - https://www.eicbi.org/summits EICBI also hopes to explore the possibility of having Members of European Parliament visit India and Members of India Parliament to visit Brussels so as to provide a first had experience of what are the challenges and opportunities in these regions. - https://www.eicbi.org/dignitaries-visit EICBI also organises regular interactions at the European Parliament in Brussels and other locations in Belgium, which has participation of business leaders, political leaders and trade organisation representatives from India and EU, so as to discuss and deliberate on various topics concerning EU India relations.
