Mission & Goals
Europa Festival wants to tackle populism, euro-scepticism and nationalism by increasing the level of Europeanness in the hearts and minds of all EU citizens, by means of influencing political parties to make Europe Day (9th May) an annual free public holiday and thereafter by means of organizing annually massive street celebrations on Europe Day in the capitals of the 27 EU countries. EU Legislative Interests
Make Europe Day a free public holiday across the 27 EU countries. Together with organizations mentioned herebelow, influende the political parties in all member states to make Europe Day a free day accross the European Union. We are communicating with your EACEA and CERV and DG Communication to learn about possibilities to get support for joining in organizing annual massive celebrations on Europe Day.
Communication Activities
Last year communicated with the city of Luxembourg to initiate this initiative in Luxembourg, because Luxembourg is the only EU country that has legalized a free public holiday on Europe Day, the 9th May. But unfortunately they have no interest to proceed with massive celebrations. Currently we are active in influencing political parties in The Netherlands to initiate a law to make Europe Day a free public holiday annually.

CTOE (Citizens Take Over Europe - see: https://citizenstakeover.eu/ ) and CSE (Civil Society Europe - see: https://civilsocietyeurope.eu ). The reason for applying for registering in the Transparency Register was to be able to be included in the Civil Society State of the Union report of the CSE that has been published in 2023, in which we have participated. The aim of our organization is in cooperation with these abovementioned organizations, influende the European Commission to make Europe Day a free day accross the European Union, and help organize massive street celebrations in the 27 EU capitals on Europe Day.
