Mission & Goals

EUROCORD brings together the technical and relational interests of European producers of synthetic fiber ropes, twines and nets. Acting at the European level, the association serves as a collaborative platform for manufacturers, suppliers, and stakeholders in the rope and netting industry, advancing innovation, standardization, and knowledge exchange across the sector.

EU Legislative Interests

OEUROCORD actively monitors and engages with key EU legislative initiatives and policy areas that impact the rope and net industry. Our main focus includes: Anti-dumping measures – ensuring fair competition for European producers. Ocean Plastics Directive – promoting sustainability and reducing marine pollution. Environmental and climate policies – supporting the transition to a greener economy. Machinery Directive – ensuring compliance with safety and efficiency standards. Free Trade Agreements and trade policies – facilitating market access and competitiveness for European producers. Circular economy initiatives – advancing resource efficiency and material recycling within the industry. EU-level innovation programs – fostering research, development, and technological advancement in line with sustainable growth objectives.

Communication Activities

EUROCORD carries out a range of communication and outreach activities to inform, engage, and represent the industry in relation to key EU policy areas. These include: Online presence – Regular updates on our website and LinkedIn, highlighting EU policy developments and their impact on the rope and net industry. Trade fairs – Active participation to engage with stakeholders and discuss topics such as the Ocean Plastics Directive and sustainability challenges. Internal communication – Dissemination of EU policy news, legislative updates, and advocacy priorities to our European member companies. Glaukos Project – Promotion of sustainable innovation through participation in the Horizon 2020 project, communicated via digital channels and dedicated events. Publications – Development of position papers addressing Anti-dumping measures, climate policies, and Free Trade Agreements. Events – Organization of workshops and webinars focused on the circular economy, environmental regulations, and innovation within the industry.
