Mission & Goals

(1) The main purpose of the association is on the one hand to promote the European integration and on the other hand to identify related actions in favour Chambers of Commerce, their member companies and their national organisations. To achieve its purpose, it shall engage in an economic, scientific and technical examination of the proposals formulated by the European Union institutions as well as in research and in the organisation of projects. (2) The association’s secondary purpose, and without prejudice to the main purpose is to present to the European Union institutions the needs, aspirations and opinions of its members in the strongest possible manner. It shall also indicate to the European Union institutions the capacity of its members - owing to their geographical distribution, and proximity to European enterprises - in providing information on Community policies and programmes and in promoting economic and trade relations with the European Union Member States (...)

EU Legislative Interests

To achieve its statutory objectives, Eurochambres mission is to develop a business friendly and competitive economic environment in the EU and beyond. In this regard, the main EU policies and initiatives followed by our organization are: International Trade Customs Single Market Industrial policy Economic policy SME policy Better regulation Innovation Digitalisation Taxation Company law Energy Sustainability Environment Skills, education and vocational training Enlargement and neighbourhood policy EU cooperation/ technical assistance programmes towards third countries

Communication Activities

EU policies and programmes of interest to the chamber network and its member companies are discussed within Eurochambres committees composed of experts from our member delegations These committees are the following : Economic Policy International Trade Neighbourhood and Enlargement Single Market Skills Sustainability The outcome of these discussions are disseminated via: European Commission consultation responses Positions, reports and other publications Social media and press releases Website and newsletters Events Meetings with high level representatives of the EU institutions This information is available on www.eurochambres.eu
