Mission & Goals
EUROCAM's goals are as follows: a) To provide a space for exchange and meetings with companies and bilateral organizations and networks working in Mozambique and Mozambicans, to identify, review and discuss, in a spirit of partnership and mutual trust, issues of common interest and any other matter of an economic, industrial and commercial nature; b) To advise and support foreign companies and other persons or organizations that are already established or intend to establish themselves and that do or intend to do business in Mozambique, in relation to all commercial, financial and economic matters; d) To advise, assist and support the promotion of trade, investment, finance and industry between Mozambique, the European Union, Europe in general and other parts of the world. e) To promote investment by European and other countries in Mozambique, and Mozambican investment in Europe and other parts of the world; and to foster, support and represent the interests of foreign companies in M
EU Legislative Interests
EU-Africa Green Energy Initiative (Under EU Global Gateway Strategy) Directive (EU) 2023/2413 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 October 2023 amending Directive (EU) 2018/2001 on the promotion of the use of energy from renewable sources Communication from the Commission – EU External Energy Engagement in a changing world (COM/2022/547 final) Regulation (EU) 2023/956 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 10 May 2023 establishing a carbon border adjustment mechanism Global Gateway Initiative in Mozambique: Our organisation is actively engaged in advancing the objectives of the Global Gateway Strategy of the European Union, particularly in the context of renewable energy infrastructure development and sustainable economic growth in Mozambique. We collaborate closely with the EU Delegation to Mozambique to support the implementation of energy projects that aim to enhance access to renewable energy, particularly in rural and underserved regions. These efforts align with the broader goals of the European Green Deal and the EU External Investment Plan, which seeks to promote sustainable development and investments in partner countries. EU Renewable Energy and AMER Partnership: Our organisation is an active partner of the Associação Moçambicana de Energias Renováveis (AMER), a prominent Mozambican organisation dedicated to the promotion and development of renewable energy. Through this collaboration, we work to influence EU policy and investment in renewable energy projects in Mozambique, aligning with the EU’s Renewable Energy Directive (RED III) (Directive (EU) 2023/2413) and the European Green Deal. These policies are central to ensuring that EU investments contribute to the sustainable development of Mozambique's energy sector. Furthermore, we advocate for the inclusion of Mozambique’s renewable energy projects within the scope of the Global Gateway Initiative, ensuring that EU-funded infrastructure projects are aligned with regional and national energy transition goals. EU Renewable Energy Policy: Our organisation also works to influence the legislative framework surrounding the Renewable Energy Directive (RED III), Directive (EU) 2023/2401, which is part of the EU's Clean Energy for All Europeans package. This directive sets binding renewable energy targets for all EU Member States and plays a critical role in shaping external energy policies and the EU’s commitment to climate action globally. We advocate for increased EU support for renewable energy projects in Mozambique, aligning with the goals of the European Green Deal and EU’s Global Gateway strategy to help meet the EU's climate and sustainability objectives.
Communication Activities
EU Global Gateway Investment Forum: EUROCAM participated in the EU Global Gateway Investment Forum, where we contributed to discussions on investment strategies for sustainable energy projects in Africa, with a specific focus on Mozambique.
