Mission & Goals
EURead is an association of European organisations in the area of promotion of reading, with the aim to improve the reading and writing skills in Europe – for every member of the society, regardless of his/her material, cultural, or social conditions. EURead is convinced that literacy is a prerequisite for education, personal development and participation in society. EURead is committed to improve the programming and financial frameworks to promote literacy and media competence in Europe, acts as a European contact partner and a player for the promotion of reading and shapes the development of the European promotion of reading through targeted exchange programmes and policy recommendations on the basis of current scientific evidence.
