Mission & Goals
WHAT DO WE DO? Participants in the EU Food Policy Coalition work towards policy integration and alignment at the EU-level to facilitate the transition to sustainable food systems. The Coalition provides the debating space to discuss policies and, sometimes, carry out joint activities. In particular, participants of the EU Food Policy believe that the European Union must pave the way to sustainable food systems by: Developing an inclusive and transparent governance and regulatory framework for policy coherence and transformation; Supporting a transition to agroecological food production that safeguards the environment, the climate, and our health; Driving a transition to sustainable, healthy diets by creating enabling food environments; Establishing a socially and economically just food system; Ensuring the welfare and health of farmed animals; Promoting participatory research and knowledge exchange for sustainable food systems (sfs); Driving global action for sfs

Member Of
The EU FPC is in regular exchange and works closely with the “Good Food, Good Farming” alliance (https://www.goodfoodgoodfarming.eu/about-us/) and the "Access To Land" (https://www.accesstoland.eu/) network.
Organisation Members
The EU FPC is a coalition of 63 civil society organizations, including grassroots social movement, farmers organizations, organizations of fisheries, trade unions, think tanks, as well as scientific and research groups. Because the Coalition is not a formally established entity, organizations are not members but defined as a “participating organization” working towards refining and advocating for a shared vision of sustainable food systems at the EU level. Participants to the EU Food Policy Coalition must sign a Participation Letter agreeing to basic collaboration and governance rules and the current Memorandum of Understanding. Participation does not entail an obligation to participate in specific actions. Though the EU FPC is not a formal entity, it does have a formal affiliation procedure outlined in its MoU. Affiliation is based on alignment of interested organizations with the work and vision of the EU FPC, and is reviewed by its Executive Board and General Assembly. A list of all participating organizations of the EU FPC can be found here: https://foodpolicycoalition.eu/participants/ Other than that, the EU FPC is in regular exchange and works closely with the “Good Food, Good Farming” alliance (https://www.goodfoodgoodfarming.eu/about-us/) and the "Access To Land" (https://www.accesstoland.eu/) network.
