Mission & Goals

The mission of the EU-ABC is to: Advocate for European business interests in the ASEAN region; Push for the reduction and eventual elimination of barriers to trade (both tariffs and NTBs); Facilitate trade and investment between Europe and ASEAN; Collaborate and interact with the ASEAN Secretariat and other related bodies; Contribute to and promote pan-ASEAN economic integration; Support the establishment of an EU-ASEAN free trade agreement, and FTAs between the EU and ASEAN Member States in the meantime; and, Work to support other areas of key policy interest to advance EU-ASEAN relations including, but not limited to, sustainable development, energy transition and the greening of supply chains, digital economy, harmonisation of standards etc. Work on the prevention of illicit trade in ASEAN

Communication Activities

The EU-ABC produces regular position papers on a range of topics covering the areas that its members have interest in, including all of those listed above. It also produces an annual EU-ASEAN Business Sentiment Survey. All papers are shared with interested stakeholders in EU institutions.
