Mission & Goals

The European Textile Services Association (ETSA) is a non-profit making organisation which was set up in Brussels in 1994 to represent and promote the interests of textile service industry leaders in Europe. The textile services industry has an estimated turnover of circa €11 billion and employs over 135 000 persons in the EU. Textile services provide a sustainable alternative to disposables, washing at home and ownership of textiles. ETSA is the platform for networking and sharing of best practices for its members: leading textile rental and supplier firms, national associations and research institutes. ETSA proactively monitors and lobbies on EU legislation and technical standards on its’ members behalf. ETSA launched its Manifesto to raise awareness of the TS sector to the incoming European institutions representatives during its 2024 Prague Congress. ETSA saw its EU Climate Pact Ambassadorship renewed for 2025 ETSA is a member of the Ecodesign Forum and EU PPE & Waste experts WGs

Communication Activities

ETSA is the leading European association for textile care companies and national textile services associations. We represent a segment of the sector that is crucial in the textile value chain. Our textile care companies supply hygienically cleaned workwear/protective clothing and PPEs, linen and other textiles to the rest of the economy. We do embrace the importance of moving from a very much product-owning economy to a more lease-based economy is key.
