Mission & Goals
Eticas.ai is an organization dedicated to research and the management of ethics in technology. Its mission is to ensure that the development and use of artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies are responsible, transparent, and respect human rights. Eticas.ai collaborates with institutions, businesses, and governments to promote public policies that ensure fairness, social justice, and sustainability in the implementation of technologies. The organization focuses on identifying and mitigating ethical risks in the adoption of AI, aiming for a positive impact on society.
EU Legislative Interests
Eticas focuses on the ethical, legal, and societal implications of artificial intelligence (AI) and automated decision-making systems. Our work aligns with key EU legislative proposals and policies related to AI governance, digital rights, and data protection. Specifically, we engage with: - The AI Act – Ensuring transparency, fairness, and accountability in AI systems. - The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) – Addressing issues of data privacy, automated decision-making, and compliance with data protection standards. - The Digital Services Act (DSA) and Digital Markets Act (DMA) – Promoting responsible platform governance and mitigating algorithmic bias. - The European Strategy on AI – Advocating for ethical AI frameworks and human-centered technology development. - The Data Governance Act – Supporting responsible data sharing practices and regulatory compliance. - Through our audits, research, and policy recommendations, we contribute to shaping EU policies that foster ethical and responsible AI deployment while safeguarding fundamental rights.
