Mission & Goals
Ercros, S.A. is a leading Spanish chemical company engaged in the development, manufacture and marketing of basic, intermediate and specialty chemical products. The company plays a key role in the European industrial value chain by supplying essential inputs for sectors such as construction, water treatment, pharmaceuticals, food, and energy. The mission of Ercros is to produce safely, efficiently and responsibly, in full compliance with European Union legislation and international standards on health, safety and environmental protection. Ercros promotes innovation and the circular economy through the efficient use of natural resources and the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions.
EU Legislative Interests
Ercros follows and contributes to the implementation and development of several key EU legislative frameworks and policy initiatives that directly affect the European chemical industry. Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 (CLP) – on classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures. EU Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability (CSS) – within the European Green Deal framework. Directive 2010/75/EU (Industrial Emissions Directive) and its revision (IED2). Regulation (EU) 2021/1119 (European Climate Law) and the “Fit for 55” package. EU Taxonomy Regulation (Regulation (EU) 2020/852) – defining sustainable economic activities. Waste Framework Directive (Directive 2008/98/EC) – in relation to circular economy objectives. Regulations governing the transport of dangerous goods (ADR/RID/IMDG) applicable to the movement of chemical products within the EU. Ercros engages in these areas primarily through technical and regulatory dialogue facilitated by industry associations such as FEIQUE (Federación Empresarial de la Industria Química Española) and CEFIC (European Chemical Industry Council).
Communication Activities
Ercros participates in communication and institutional engagement activities related to EU chemicals, environmental and industrial policies, both directly and through European and national trade associations. These activities include: Contributing to public consultations launched by the European Commission, particularly those related to REACH, CLP, IED and the Chemicals Strategy for Sustainability. Providing technical reports, data and position papers to regulatory bodies and working groups on safety, sustainability and industrial competitiveness. Participating in conferences, expert workshops and industry round tables organised by CEFIC, FEIQUE and other European fora. Publishing annual sustainability and ESG reports aligned with EU policy priorities, including the European Green Deal and climate neutrality objectives. Through these actions, Ercros promotes constructive, transparent dialogue with European institutions and stakeholders, ensuring that its experience and technical expertise contribute to effective, science-based regulation.
