Clean Industrial Deal to deliver a Joint Decarbonisation and Competitiveness RoadmapSRC

Mission & Goals

To achieve a truly decarbonised and affordable energy system, we need clean, power, delivered round-the-clock. EnergyTag is a non-profit initiative accelerating this transition. We do this by enabling and advocating for reforms to clean energy markets and carbon accounting systems that reward clean power when and where it’s needed. Our work enables better incentives for round-the-clock renewables, clean-firm power, storage, and flexible demand - key decarbonisation tools that are often overlooked in today’s clean energy frameworks. By enabling the right incentive structures, we can pave the way to electricity systems that are truly clean, affordable, and secure—every hour, everywhere.

EU Legislative Interests

In line with our mission, EnergyTag focusses on legislation and policies to enable the round-the-clock clean electricity we need to enable a competitive, energy secure Europe that meet's it's climate objectives. In particular, we focus on - The Renewable Energy Directive - The Clean Industrial Deal - The Clean Industrial State Aid Framwork - The Electrification Action Plan - The Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism - EU Data Centre Reporting Requirements - Electricity Market Design And in particular the potential amendment of Article 19 "Guarantees of origin for energy from renewable sources" to facilitate electricity disclosure of more temporal granularity. EnergyTag is also interested in a number of other areas where a more robust carbon accounting and green certification mechanisms can better serve the EU climate policy objectives: 1. Carbon-border adjustment mechanism (CBAM) 2. Low-carbon hydrogen definitions 3. Electricity Market Directive (EMD)
