Mission & Goals
The Energy Efficient Mortgages NL Hub (EEM NL Hub) is an initiative from a diverse group of stakeholders in the Dutch residential housing and mortgage market such as lenders, investors, service providers and other institutions. Energy efficient mortgages will play an important role in financing the transition to a climate-neutral economy. The 23 members of the EEM NL Hub (representing > 85% of the mortgage originators in the Netherlands) have committed to supporting and promoting the acceleration and adaptation of energy efficient housing in the Netherlands by interpreting the EU regulations for sustainable financing and energy efficient mortgages in specific.
EU Legislative Interests
We are in particularly interested in policy areas that cover: - Buildings - Mortgages - Loans - Financial -(mortgage) loan funding - Asset Backed Securities / Securitisation And EU legislative proposals such as: - The Green Deal - The EU Taxonomy regulation - EPBD recast - Energy Efficiency Directive - EU Green Bonds Standard
Communication Activities
We are an association started in September of 2021. We carry out our work among working groups. The working groups are organised according to the following pillars. Pillar 1: Dutch Framework for Energy Efficient Mortgages Pillar 2: Data & Disclosure Pillar 3: Representation & Alignment Next this we have a: - Website (https://energyefficientmortgages.nl/); - and a linkedin page. In addition we plan to regularly publish white papers and position papers along a framework for applying the Eu Taxonomy to dutch mortgages (in practice)
