Mission & Goals
Energinet is an independent public enterprise owned by the Danish Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities. We own, operate and develop the transmission systems for electricity and natural gas in Denmark and will develop and operate the future hydrogen infrastructure in Denmark Energinet’s mission is to convert the energy system with the aim of ensuring that citizens and businesses use renewable energy for everything, with a high level of security of supply and at an affordable price.

Energinet is a state-owned transmission system operator operating under a regulated revenue framework. The organisation’s revenues consist of statutory tariffs and regulated market-based income paid by system users in accordance with European and Danish energy regulation. These revenues do not constitute budgetary transfers, grants, or public subsidies.
