Mission & Goals
ENAPI GmbH is a technology company based in Berlin, focused on building digital infrastructure for the European electric mobility market. Our mission is to accelerate the adoption of sustainable transportation by enabling seamless, secure, and interoperable electric vehicle (EV) charging. We specialize in developing and operating backend systems and interfaces that facilitate reliable communication and transaction processing between key market players such as Charge Point Operators (CPOs) and eMobility Service Providers (EMSPs). Our solutions support automation, efficiency, and trust across the EV charging value chain. ENAPI plays an active role in shaping the European e-mobility ecosystem by promoting open standards, secure identity and authorization mechanisms, and alignment with regulatory frameworks such as the Alternative Fuels Infrastructure Regulation (AFIR). Our work contributes to the rollout of smart, connected, and user-centric charging infrastructure across Europe.
EU Legislative Interests
Regulation (EU) 2023/1804 on the deployment of alternative fuels infrastructure ENAPI aims to influence how Plug & Charge and PKI frameworks are implemented practically across charging infrastructure. Delegated Regulation regarding technical specifications for recharging points This sets standards for ISO 15118 communication. ENAPI participates in consultations to ensure interoperability and secure vehicle authentication. ISO 15118-related standardisation mandates (e.g., CEN/CENELEC mandates on 15118‑2 and 15118‑20) We engage to shape implementation guidance for certificate-based charging with a focus on PKI integrity, vendor‑neutrality, and trust lists. Commission initiative on the EU e‑mobility PKI governance framework We contribute technical input on trust anchor models, certificate pools, certificate trust list (CTL), and governance structures to support regulation implementation.
