Mission & Goals
Our mission is to preserve people's right to privacy, in the face of an increasingly centralised internet, and routine surveillance. We believe people should be able to talk, via the internet, with the same level of privacy as a face-to-face conversation in their own home. We believe people should be able to communicate on their own terms; securely and in control of their data. Through open source and the Matrix open standard for decentralised communication, we enable anyone to talk with everyone. No walled gardens, no vendor lock-in. We’ve created a unique system that combines true end-to-end encryption, cross-signed device verification, an open decentralised network and digital self-sovereignty.
