Mission & Goals
The objectives of European Fishmeal are: - To represent and promote the European fishmeal and fish oil industry in the EU. - To assure a pro-active position for the sector in front of the EU Commission, the EU Council and the European Parliament. - To provide accurate information to decision makers. - To organise and coordinate activities within the areas of interest of the European fishmeal and fish oil producers. - To distribute relevant national and international legislation to its members. - To cooperate with other associations within its field.
EU Legislative Interests
Initiatives, revisions, policies and legislative files regarding: - the Common Fisheries Policy and fish stocks management, - the European Green Deal (i.e., Farm to Fork, Nature Restoration, Fit for 55 package, Transition to a Circular Economy), - the Energy Transition Partnership for EU fisheries and aquaculture, - the development of Environmental Footprint Methods for fishery products, - the European Ocean Pact, - the European Protein Strategy, - the Animal by-products legislative framework, - the TSE legislation, - Food and feed safety and maximum levels of contaminants, - the market and trade of fishery products.
