Mission & Goals
Ecorys Nederland B.V. is an international research and consultancy organisation that provides evidence-based advice to public and private sector clients. Its remit includes policy research, analysis, monitoring and evaluation, programme management, and strategic communications. The organisation aims to support the design, implementation, and assessment of policies and programmes addressing key societal challenges, including economic development, social policy, sustainability, and governance. Ecorys’ goal is to contribute to positive societal impact by delivering independent, high-quality insights that support effective decision-making and improve public systems at local, national, and international levels.
EU Legislative Interests
Ecorys Nederland B.V. does not seek to influence EU decision making in favour of specific commercial, sectoral or political interests. Its engagement with EU institutions relates mainly to independent research, evaluation, technical assistance, analytical support and stakeholder consultation under public contracts and EU funded assignments. For Transparency Register purposes, the EU policies, programmes and instruments that may form the subject matter of Ecorys’s engagement include Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 on a Single Market for Digital Services, the Digital Services Act, including platform governance, online safety, illegal content, disinformation, transparency and very large online platforms and search engines. Ecorys’s work may also relate to Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 laying down harmonised rules on artificial intelligence, the Artificial Intelligence Act, including AI governance, data use, risk management, fundamental rights and responsible use of emerging technologies. Ecorys may further engage on Regulation (EU) 2021/241 establishing the Recovery and Resilience Facility, including evaluation of national recovery and resilience plans, research and innovation measures, green and digital transition measures, implementation performance and EU added value. Its work may also relate to EU Cohesion Policy for the 2014 to 2020 and 2021 to 2027 programming periods, including the European Regional Development Fund, the Cohesion Fund, the Just Transition Fund and related regional development instruments, with reference to territorial development and cohesion. Ecorys’s activities may also concern EU migration, asylum, border management and internal security instruments, including the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund, the Border Management and Visa Instrument, the Internal Security Fund, DG HOME work on irregular migration and legal migration, and related EU migration support programmes. Where relevant, Ecorys’s work may also relate to the Schengen acquis and Regulation (EC) No 767/2008 concerning the Visa Information System, including visa procedures, biometric data, travel document data, border management and fundamental rights safeguards. In sustainability, energy and industry, Ecorys’s work may relate to Regulation (EU) 2022/869 on guidelines for trans European energy infrastructure, the TEN E Regulation, and related EU energy infrastructure, security of supply, climate transition and energy market integration policies. In the digital and internal market fields, Ecorys may also work on the Digital Markets Act, the Data Act, the Data Governance Act, standard essential patents, FRAND licensing, data sharing, interoperability and digital competitiveness. Ecorys’s work may also concern EU security and defence policy, including EU Security Union priorities, civil security market fragmentation, security technologies, CBRN preparedness, resilience, defence industrial policy and space policy. In EU external action and development cooperation, Ecorys may engage on EU support to third countries, EU Delegations, rule of law, public accountability, migration partnerships, resilience, regional development, statistics cooperation and evidence based programming. Ecorys’s engagement with EU institutions in these areas may involve meetings with Commission services, EU agencies, Members of the European Parliament or other institutional stakeholders to present research findings, collect evidence, discuss study methodology, validate analysis, participate in consultations, support evaluations or provide technical expertise. Such engagement is carried out in the context of service provision and evidence based policy support. Ecorys does not advocate predetermined legislative outcomes. Where Ecorys provides input on EU policies or instruments, this is done as an independent research, evaluation or technical assistance provider and is intended to support informed policymaking, programme implementation, monitoring, evaluation and learning.
Communication Activities
Ecorys Nederland B.V. engages with EU institutions, in particular the European Commission, primarily in the context of providing independent research, policy analysis, and evaluation services. These interactions are typically initiated within the framework of publicly procured contracts or in response to calls for tenders and requests for services. Communication activities include participation in meetings, briefings, and technical discussions with Commission services to support the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of EU policies and programmes. Ecorys may also contribute to stakeholder consultations, workshops, and expert discussions where analytical input and evidence-based insights are required. In addition, Ecorys engages in introductory and exploratory meetings with EU officials to better understand policy developments, emerging priorities, and potential areas for analytical support, always in line with applicable transparency and procurement rules. Such interactions are strictly non-lobbying in nature and focused on the provision of technical expertise. All outreach is conducted in accordance with the principles of transparency, integrity, and independence, and does not involve advocacy for specific legislative or policy outcomes, but rather supports informed decision-making through high-quality research and analysis.

Member Of
Ecorys Nederland B.V. is not a member of any association, federation, confederation or other membership structure at national, European or international level for the purpose of representing sectoral interests in relation to EU decision making. Ecorys carries out its EU related activities primarily through public contracts, framework contracts, consortium arrangements and project specific cooperation with clients, partners, experts, academic institutions and specialist organisations. Ecorys is part of the wider Ecorys group, which publicly refers to networks of associates, partners, academics and specialists. These are professional and project related networks used for the delivery of research, evaluation, programme management, communications and technical assistance assignments. They do not constitute lobbying associations or representative structures through which Ecorys seeks to influence EU policy or legislation. Where relevant, Ecorys also follows professional research standards. Ecorys publicly states that it is a member of the Market Research Society, the professional body for the research sector. Ecorys also undertakes environmental, social and governance and community activities, including charity partnerships and donations, but these are separate from its EU Transparency Register covered activities unless a specific activity falls within the scope of the Register. Accordingly, for the purposes of this field, the relevant structure to list is the Market Research Society. Ecorys does not consider EU institutions, agencies, programmes or bodies such as the European Commission, European Parliament, Council of Europe, European Union Aviation Safety Agency, European Parliamentary Research Service, ESPON or European Investment Bank to be memberships or associations within the meaning of this field.
Organisation Members
Ecorys Nederland B.V. does not have a membership base comparable to an association, federation, confederation or non governmental organisation. It is not a membership organisation and therefore does not have individual or organisational members to list in this field. For the purposes of this field, the affiliated entities of Ecorys Nederland B.V. are the entities and offices forming part of, or operating under, the wider Ecorys group structure. Ecorys publicly describes the Ecorys Group as comprising Ecorys Nederland, Ecorys United Kingdom, Ecorys Brussels, the International Development Unit, and several European offices, namely Ecorys Spain, Ecorys Poland, Ecorys Bulgaria, Ecorys Croatia and Ecorys Italy. Such cooperation is project based and does not generally create membership of Ecorys Nederland B.V. or a standing affiliated entity relationship. Where such cooperation is relevant to a particular EU assignment, it is governed by the relevant contract, consortium agreement or subcontracting arrangement.
