Mission & Goals
ECOCITY, based on its mission and pillars of concern, sets a strategic plan involving priority issues that tackle the most relevant to its role, important and pressing environmental problems at national level but always taking into account European policies and tendencies that could guide and reinforce our work. According to organisation’s current 3-year work plan, the main priorities are: - Sustainable mobility – air pollution and public health. - Behavioural change on energy consumption and Circular Economy principles. The priority is implemented by: - Climate Change negative effects. - Toxic Free Cities.

Communication Activities
- Ecomobility campaign since 2004: promotion of sustainable mobility in high school students, annually to 30 cities and schools (https://www.ecomobility.gr/) - 2023-2024 series of events on Standards and Standardization in cooperation with ECOS and ELOT) - participation in the National Council of Planning - Ministry of Environment, - MOU with the Ministry of Defence to promote and implement the Environmental Strategic Plan of the ministry, - co-sign with Ministry of Environment the green deal for electromobility - EU funded projects: (a) LIFE AskREACH - raising consumer awareness about substances of high concern (SVHC) in articles and empowering consumers on their Right to Know - REACH Art.33 (https://www.askreach.eu/about-project/), (b) LIFE ChemBee - reduce exposure to hazardous chemicals through households and officechecks (https://thinkbefore.eu/en/life-chembee/) - Co-signing letters and position papers on PFAS restriction, REACH reform, pesticide use and export ban of harmful toxic substances
