Mission & Goals
To promote and defend the interests of its Members in the field of broadcasting (i.e. radio, television and other electronic media) vis-à-vis international organisations, and particularly the European Union; This includes: promoting and developing the concept and values of public service broadcasting; safeguarding and improving freedom of expression and information; enhancing the freedom and pluralism of the media, the free flow of information and ideas, and the free formation of opinions; developing cultural diversity, intercultural dialogue and exchanges in conditions which safeguard such fundamental values as tolerance and solidarity; protecting and promoting Europe’s cultural heritage and the development of its audiovisual creation by offering an increasing choice of programmes and services; reinforcing the identity of the peoples, social cohesion and the integration of all individuals, groups and communities; fulfilling the public’s expectations in the informat (...)

EU funding has been received for specific projects, not for regular operating costs. The "Estimate of annual costs related to activities covered by the register" is calculated as a percentage of (total 2024 costs including value of office rental), where the percentage is the 2024 percentage of FTE spent on EU-influencing (or supporting it), minus 2024 external costs specific to EU-funded projects.
