Mission & Goals
EBG Federation (erstwhile European Business Group) in India aims to promote Europe as India's most preferred business partner thus creating an environment that allows European Business to flourish. EBG Federation India provides: Businesses, opportunities connect with Indian Government and industry, European Embassies and High Commissions. The businesses, a means to realize their full potential through business and social networking forums. A close working relationship with Delegation of the European Union in India.
EU Legislative Interests
EBG promotes interest of its Member Companies which are European corporates & Indo-European Joint Venture corporates where the dominant or critical control is with the European partner. We overall promote interests of our members across Europe India Corridor without any support from EU institution or do not influence any specific target policies. We have been promoting our member European companies under different sectors resolving their concerns or issues affecting relevant policies and regulations concerning particular member companies. EBG has a longstanding support to EU-India relations for over 26 years, including the release of 21 consecutive Position Paper editions, facilitation of meetings with EU senior-level executives (with the exception of the last 2 years), assistance to our member companies with longstanding issues with Central and State Governments, and organization of regular events or sessions to provide a platform for our members to connect with government and non-government stakeholders and address their concerns directly. We cover cross sectors including Agrochemicals, Aviation, Automotive, Alcoholic Beverages, Banking, Chemicals and Petrochemicals, Defence, Energy - Oil and Gas & Power, Financial Services, FMCG, ICT, Logistics, Pharmaceuticals, Retail, Railways, and Telecommunications.
Communication Activities
EBG organizes regular interactions with the Central and select State Governments. Given the current extraordinary circumstances post the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been organising webinars and in the very recent past physical events with very senior government functionaries, for our members to understand and respond, through an interactive dialogue to the challenges being faced by our members post COVID-19. Our activities include amongst other things, an ongoing dialogue with the Government, Regulators, Chambers of Industry & Commerce, key media leaders, and Indian Industry to further encourage increased trade and investment flows between EU and India We publish, what is now seen as a respected and important Annual “Position Paper” which highlights EBG’s views on required policy changes to facilitate and build on EU- India business. This Position Paper forms an integral part of the Annual EU- India Summit and is also an important reference point and base document for the European Commission and member countries in their bilateral deliberations with the Indian Government As part of our ongoing activities, we organize impactful events and publish the Annual Position Paper, a key reference document for policy discussions. Some of our notable events in 2024 include: Networking Evening at DLF Farmhouse, 17th February 2024 Cybercrime & Data Protection session with Nangia Andersen LLP, 29th February 2024. The Role of Major International Banks in Promoting Trade & Investment, 6th June 2024 at The Lodhi, featuring Dr. Anup Wadhawan and Mr. Atanu Chakraborty. Annual Budget Session in partnership with Deloitte, 25th July 2024 Unravelling GST, Customs Duty, and Refunds with Shri Rajesh Kumar, IRS, 24th September 2024. Panel Discussion on FTAs with Amb. Anil Wadhwa and Amb. Ajay Bisaria, 18th October 2024. EBG 22nd Position Paper Release, 27th November at The Park, New Delhi. Networking Evening, 19th December 2024 at Taj City Centre, Gurugram. Perhaps, the year 2025 started with some of the most impactful events organised by EBG, including: 1. Exclusive Networking Cocktail with TMF Group at Taj Palace, 23rd January 2025 2. Event on "India-Europe: Exploring Pathways for Collaboration" with The Borbhag Group at The Delhi Golf Club, 30th January 2025 3. Annual Event on "Analysis of Union Budget 2025 with our Knowlege Partner, Deloitte" at IILM University, 4th February 2025 4. International Women's Day webinar with Sage Presage (Virtual), 28th March 2025. 5. Event on "US Tariff Policy Changes – Impact Assessment for India & Indian Tax Reforms" on 30th April 2025 at Le Méridien, Gurugram.
