Mission & Goals
The Dutch New Narrative Lab Foundation (DNNL) is a non-profit initiative promoting inclusive entrepreneurship as a driver of innovation, economic growth, and social cohesion. DNNL develops bottom-up narratives and policy insights to strengthen access to finance, networks, and visibility for underrepresented entrepreneurs. Through research, multi-stakeholder dialogues, and UnConferences, DNNL connects businesses, academia, and policymakers to co-create fairer innovation ecosystems. The foundation collaborates with public and private partners across Europe, including ministries, universities, and corporates, to advance EU priorities such as the Digital Decade, the Green Deal, and the Social Economy Action Plan. DNNL’s work directly informs national and European strategies on inclusive innovation, diversity in tech, and sustainable entrepreneurship.

Communication Activities
DNNL organises and contributes to public events, workshops, and UnConferences that promote inclusive entrepreneurship, innovation, and diversity in line with the EU’s Social Economy Action Plan, SME Strategy, and Digital Decade goals. The foundation regularly publishes research-based reports, policy briefs, and articles (e.g. A New Narrative: Bottom-up Approaches to Inclusive Entrepreneurship in the Netherlands) that highlight best practices and policy recommendations relevant to the EU. DNNL’s events, such as the New Economy Working Group sessions and DNNL UnConferences, bring together EU policymakers, entrepreneurs, corporates, and academics to foster evidence-based dialogue on inclusive innovation and access to finance. The organisation also collaborates with partners including the OECD-YEPA, VNO-NCW, and universities on awareness campaigns addressing the underrepresentation of women and minorities in entrepreneurship and tech.
